Cindy Cunningham is a seeker of truth, a weaver of words, and a lover of all things literary. With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University, an MFA in Creative Writing from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a PhD in English from Georgia State University, she has immersed herself in the art of understanding human nature and expressing it through the power of language.

Gail Giewont chairs the Literary Arts department at Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology. She is the author of Vulture, a chapbook of poetry, available from Finishing Line Press.

About Wellspring Literary Journal

Welcome to Wellspring Writing Journal, a haven for diverse voices. Wellspring showcases short-form creative nonfiction, literary poetry, and craft essays from emerging and established writers. We are committed to publishing inclusive and authentic work that entertains, enlightens, and inspires deep connection within the Wellspring Writing Collective, our judgment-free platform for experiment and self-discovery. As part of our commitment, we embrace and publish a wide spectrum of voices, including those from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

In addition to showcasing emerging and established writers, we are delighted to offer an internship program to students from the Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology. This program not only nurtures the next generation of storytellers, but also supports young talent through hands-on involvement in technology, artwork, layout design, curation, and editing. Under the guidance and mentorship of esteemed poet and fiction writer Gail Giewont, selected students receive invaluable support and guidance.

Leading the charge at Wellspring is Cindy Cunningham, a seasoned writer, editor, and instructor with over three decades of experience in the literary world. Her expertise creates an environment that encourages creative expression and resonates with readers from all walks of life.
